- To maintain the Church to a level of Safety that is required by Health, Fire and other Government and local Authorities. This requires the Committee to have members with knowledge of these requirements and ability to keep up to new regulations as they occur.
- To consider upgrades to the Church as funds are available to lower energy costs while keeping it comfortable in colder weather.
- To maintain the Church facility, parking area and walkways in a clean and safe condition.
- To contract, by tender if possible, snow plowing, floor waxing, carpet cleaning, lawn maintenance. Waxing the Bert Passmore Hall and Kitchen is required every second year. Carpets are cleaned where necessary in the alternate year.
- To oversee fire safety inspection yearly. Kitchen, stove safety system needs to be inspected twice yearly. The inspections need to be completed by a licensed fire safety company who is approved by North Bay Fire Department.
- To be involved with Finance Committee and Trustees in regard to Insurance coverage for the Church. Complete detail of coverage needs to be available on demand. The Insurance needs to be paid yearly.
- To oversee and be involved in rental of all areas of the Church. New groups, organizations who want to rent the Church need to be voted by council prior to approval and setting of a fee. The secretary maintains a binder in the office which lists on a weekly, monthly, yearly basis on all bookings that are currently in place. Procedure to book something is very easy. Call the office, talk to the secretary, find a time available for booking, a fee will be determined which needs to be paid prior to the event. A group with high percentage of EUC members involved is not charged. Groups using the Church are asked to and expected to restore the area used back to its original condition. Considerable effort has occurred in recent years to be accessible and conserve natural resources and energy. Insurance coverage is discussed with those renting rooms at Emmanuel United Church.
- The Church secretary receives and issues receipts for hall rentals as per Finance procedures. A record of the rents received is maintained and is available for reference and if necessary, follow up by Property Committee. A list of renters their contacts and rental rates is kept on file in the office filing cabinet.
- To oversee the agreement between EUC and Emmanuel Village to have the Village Building Manager to take care of essential cleaning services such as washrooms, garbage, some floor cleaning and an increased level of security of the Church.
